Garden City Turkey Trot Returns This Thanksgiving On Long Island

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — The annual Garden City Turkey Trot returns this Thanksgiving on Long Island.

This year’s primary event — a five-mile run — kicked off at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s School.

Some people headed out earlier for a fun run at 9:15 a.m.

Organizers are collecting non-perishable foods, and proceeds from the Turkey Trot go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and The Inn, serving hungry and homeless Long Islanders.
